Full-time and Part-time Status
If you are registered in 70% or more of the total semester hours of a program or 66% or more of the courses, then you are considered full-time. Less than that, and you are part-time. If you are registered in more than that, then you will be subject to additional fees for course loads above 100%.
Please see your Academic Program Office, as some programs do not offer part-time courses.
In terms of financial assistance (OSAP), the criteria are slightly different. You are considered full-time if you are registered in 60% of your courses. If you are a student registered with Disability Services, you are considered full-time if you are registered in 40% or more, of your courses.
Some full-time programs are also offered on a part-time basis through Continuing Education. Details are listed in our Continuing Education website.
